The drunken, slacker werewolf sheriff deputy Lou Garou (Leo Fafard) returns in the horror-comedy Another WolfCop. A new brewery entrepreneur arrives in Woodhaven and sets up a new brewery and hockey team with an evil plan. Former deputy and now promoted Tina Walsh (Amy Matysio), and Lou must enforce the law in their style. Willie Higgins (Jonathan Cheery) returns, still baffled with Lou’s alcohol chugging (“Jeeze, Lou”).
Another WolfCop, directed and written by Lowell Dean, is as good as the first WolfCop in character, story, costume, and effects. The sequel introduces new and very interesting characters. Emersen Ziffle’s practical costume and effects are just as convincing as they are fascinating. It’s clear the WolfCop franchise throws in as much quality, gore, and blood into a movie on a low budget.
Another WolfCop makes several references to the first movie. The sequel is light on the backstories of certain characters. It also references to the first movie occasionally. I highly recommend seeing WolfCop before Another WolfCop to better understand the movie and see the (ahem) scenes you might not see in the sequel.
If you enjoy campy horror-comedy movies, Another WolfCop is a fun choice. It is a movie that does not take itself seriously. It is one that I will buy on Blu-ray when it becomes available.
On a personal note: when the first WolfCop released in 2014, I traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia, to see this in the theater (and later in 2015in a theater in the much closer Vancouver, Washington). Another WolfCop released in select cities in the U.S. and Canada on December 1, 2017, including in Portland, Oregon.
