HOWLCON II Cancelling

HOWLCON II werewolf convention coming up in a little over two weeks looks like it may not be happening after all.

HOWLCON II to be held on February 6 and 7, 2016, in Kelso, Washington may likely cancel. The cancellation announcement was first reported on Werewolf-News.com in the post, “HOWLCON has been cancelled”. No official word from HOWLCON has been received.

I sent an email Monday night to HOWLCON’s convention chairman inquiring on the convention’s status, but I have not heard back.

The lack of updates on their Twitter at @HOWLCONPDX and the website at HOWLCON.com , and Werewolf News’s report have convinced me to declare HOWLCON II cancelled. The PDXWerewolf.com Events page updated to show the event has cancelled.

According to Werewolf-News.com, an update should be available from HOWLCON within 48 hours.

If you have any travel or hotel reservations, you may want to make changes or cancellations accordingly.

Additional information will be available once I hear back from HOWLCON or a release is issued on HOWLCON.com.

If officially cancelled, this would be the second time HOWLCON has cancelled an event. HOWLCON 2013 that was to be held in October at the Red Lion Inn at the Quay in Vancouver, was cancelled.

UPDATE JAN. 21, 2016: HOWLCON has issued an official statement on its website regarding the cancellation or postponement. It includes future plans and refund information. Read the statement here.
